  1. How long have you been in business / and in this location?
    -    The station began broadcasting in 1953 as AM only. Mr. Brown has been the owner since 2009.

  2. How many employees?
    -    About 7.

  3. Although it may be obvious, what is your business?
    -    Radio broadcasting. Video coverage of certain events over CityLink TV (see link below). They do live remotes at events throughout the year.

  4. What do you want people to know about this place?
    -    Broadcasting 24 hours a day in AM (980) and FM (99.5) and online through the website (see link below).

  5. What is the main advantage you see for being located here?
    -    The station covers 21 counties in Illinois and Indiana, although their main focus is in the five or six counties in the immediate area where they focus on news and events in the local community.

  6. Any plans to expand?
    -    Just added the FM signal last year. There is a new website coming. And he is developing an 'ap' for the station.
    -    TiltonProgress.com will stay in touch with the station and post an update when there is news!

  7. Anything else you'd like to be on the website about your business.
    -    WITY is a locally owned and operated station. Mr. Brown is often heard behind the microphone and does work the remote at events like the Georgetown Fair and the "Half Century of Progress" farm equipment show in Rantoul.

Where the "magic happens".......



The other microphones, visible to the right in the photos, are used when they have 'in studio guests' for special coverage, such as keeping everybody up to date on election night.
